Systems Engineer

4INFO is looking for an experienced Linux Systems/Network Engineer to help maintain and grow our infrastructure. If you have a passion for open source software, the desire to delve deeply into the nooks and crannies of the LAMP and J2EE technology stacks, and the curiosity to explore new technologies or just invent them yourself, 4INFO is the place for you to do all that and more.

This position reports into the Director of System Operations and will work closely with the Software and QA teams to ensure the uptime and quality of the infrastructure used by our mobile advertising, SMS publishing, and SMS alerts systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure production systems run smoothly.
• Plan and execute projects to improve production infrastructure.
• Help maintain 24/7 uptime.
• Provide support for QA and software development initiatives.
• Monitor and track uptime and performance.
• Maintain documentation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Masters a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in Network Operations and IT.
• Great communication and documentation skills.
• Passion for technology and gadgets.

Required Technical Proficiencies

• Linux (Jedi preferred. Padawan considered)
• MySQL
• Shell or other scripting language
• TCP/IP network architecture and maintenance

Additional Desired Proficiencies

• Java
• Puppet or similar configuration system
• Cobbler pxe, or similar server build automation
• Nagios or similar monitoring system
• PostgreSQL
• IPSec and SSL VPNs (OpenSwan, Racoon, OpenVPN)
• Subversion or other version control system
• Tomcat, JBoss, Terracotta
• Apache, Nginx, or other web server
• Ant, Maven
• Windows Server 2003/2008
